Angus pillar
The Angus Pillar is finished!! I love the way the crisp, clear linework of the map on one end fades into the abstract painting on the opposite end. The numbers on the pillar correspond to reference points on a map of the area.

The Green Paintings
Here’s a
look at what’s happening in the studio lately. I’m experimenting with adding
ash to my oil paint for colour and texture being very fond of muted colours. I
want a foresty, mossy green for my image with a bright ribbon of the river swirling
languidly across the painting. Before I started I had no idea how tricksy green
is!
The ‘Angus
Pillar’ combines sculptural form with my painting, evoking memories of standing
stones that are dotted around that area and the mountains that are a backdrop around
the valley.
